and now, a brief message...

I wanted to write, "And now, a brief message from our sponsors," but that's just dumb and now I have already mentioned it and I can't seem to back pedal anymore out of this sentence...eek!

Remember how I said last week that there was a strange energy in the air? Of course not...b/c YOU NEVER remember anything I tell you- we may need to seek counseling together- I really want "us" to work it out. (I thought that was pretty funny, CLEARLY, I haven't slept since Friday night). Anywho, I felt some strange energy that induced me with insomnia-to-the-worst-degree, thinking I was just Mercury-went-retrograde agro, buuuuuuut it wasn't.

I am on nightwatch right now...and can not sleep.... Getting old is no fun! YOU HEARD IT HERE! It's the most heartbreaking thing ever... EVER, EVER! It is so strange how many people have told me amidst their breakups (especially those POWER BALLAD heart wrenching GREAT WHITE BUFFALO- iwillneverbreatheagain splits) that they feel like their significant other (well... EX-S.O.- eek!) has died. So...I find it bizarre that, when someone's life is fleeting and they are soon in their last moments of breath, it feels like they are breaking up with you. Some people just should never NOT exist. I have the perfect woman in mind, currently with breaking hearts all around her, and mine is no exception. I'd elaborate more...but I don't really feel like it.

Long story short, I sweet talked a nurse into giving me the wifi password. HOLLErrrrr r r r r r r r

I will be back soon- so dont start throwing sharp objects at your computer in frustration... I know, I know... I missed you too...ALL 12 of you!!!

you shine in the public eye, my dear

I have had the song Girlfriend in a Coma stuck in my head for the past 12 years...

*its really seriousssssssssss

I feel like if Morrissey and I were on speaking terms, he'd be all rude to me and I would just take it with a big grin, then go complain to my other friends when given the opportunity to vent. Regardless, I have seen him in and around LA since I arrived in this city more than 5 years ago, and I enjoyed his lack of enthusiasm directed towards me, if not for anything else but the sheer novelty and bragging rights, I can claim, "Morrissey bird-dogged me!"

He's kind of the best! It just makes his smile much more genuine!

I got hacked. Apparently, everyone I have EVER emailed, EVER, was sent a link to viagra and other helpful medications. It reached out to LITERALLY EVERYONE in my contacts, not limited to previous classmates, previous and current colleagues, my bosses, friends, foe, FAMILY - both young and old, past loves... OH! And THEIR FAMILIES too.

There is this strange creepy feeling in the air. Like something really BIG and not pleasant is coming...Maybe it's the mentality we have here in Los Angeles, that fears any weather that does not include sunshine. This anticipation and fear that you-know-what could come at any moment...orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... Maybe, I am just paranoid!!

I should sleep instead of dreading the phone call to my 68 year old pops explaining that I DO NOT think he may need a VIAGRA-TYPE-SUPPLEMENT! oh man..

silja magg

pitter patter goes my heart...

I effing love this band.

I am speaking of the six piece (mostly) clan from Toronto, the melodists of my heart: Broken Social Scene. I am ride or die for these guys! I have justified relationships that I endured much longer than the cosmos intended with the rationale, “He forgot my birthday… BUT! He did put Lovers Spit on that mix for me”.

They are consistently mixing it up. Male vocals backed by heavy horns, sultry strings backed by a seductively charged female vocal, and really sic drum beats (based on my wonderfully creative adjectives, you can tell I am musically inclined, huh?)! The thing I love about their records slash albums are the layers! There are so many damned layers that every time you listen, there is something new to be discovered! It’s a candy store for my ears.

Like previous BSS masterpieces, this one is heavily laden, instrumentally speaking, with an abundance of wood and stringed instrumentals. This new EP gets me closer and closer to heaven track by track! It is one of the most interesting and exciting albums I have heard. Its dense and complex, but also has a capricious, free spirit running throughout it!

prefixmag.com says ::
"Although we've gotten several solo albums and plenty of tours out of everyone's favorite multi-member indie collective, it was five years ago that Broken Social Scene last released a full-length album. Forgiveness Rock Record ends the wait. It features a leaner line-up than did Broken Social Scene, relying mostly on the contributions of only six members: singer/guitarist Kevin Drew, singer/guitarist Andrew Whiteman, guitarist Charles Spearin, guitarist Sam Goldberg, singer/bassist Brendan Canning, and drummer Justin Peroff. Of course, it wouldn't be a BSS affair without some superstar guests contributing their two cents; this go-round includes Feist, Metric's Emily Haines, and members of Stars, the Sea and Cake, and Tortoise, among others. First single "World Sick" delivers on the album's epic promise, hinting at more opulent, guitar-laden fun to come."
